A Four Winged Fossil Has Been Found!

Scientists in China have found the fossil of a four winged feathered dinosaur. The small bird-like creature is called Changyuraptor yangi. It lived 125 million years ago in the Liaoning Province of China.

At 132cm long, weighing over 4 kilograms, it is the biggest dinosaur of it’s type. The Changyuraptor yangi is bigger than the largest birds that are flying around now, like the Albatross.

The scientist found a full skeleton with a long tail and some 30cm feathers. Four winged dinosaur such as the Changyuraptor yangi are known as microraptorines.

Wouldn’t it be cool to have them still flying around?

A Dangerous Hiding Spot!

An 11 year old girl thought that she found a perfect hiding place until she realised that she was stuck. Hiding in the washing machine kept her hidden throughout the game, but after she realised that the game had ended she couldn’t get out.

Her legs had fallen asleep after being curled up so tight throughout the game. She couldn’t use her numb feet to help her push her way out. The 11 year old girl became scared as the thing that stirs the clothes was pushing against her chest and was making it hard for her to breath.

The older sister tried to get her sister out with butter peanut butter and ice but she was forced to call their mother who rushed home quickly with the girl’s aunt.  The mum with the help of her aunt were unable to get the stuck girl out so they called 911 and firefighters were sent. Luckily the girl was freed safely, and only had a few bruises.

Boy Takes A Selfie With The Queen!

A boy caught up with the Queen while she was on her tour of a market in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The boy sneakily leaned in and snapped a selfie with her while she was on her three day tour with her husband Prince Philip.

To me I think that the boy was really lucky. I also thought that it was pretty funny. Even though I don’t like taking photos of myself I’ll definitely take one with the queen!

My Experience

From Monday to Wednesday this past week our school had been chosen to be one of six primary schools that went to St Kents College for some sporting  activities. We learnt about sports, nutrition and skills. The five other schools that were there were St Pius X School, Riverina School, East Tamaki, G.I. Primary and Elim School.

We were lucky that St Kents College were providing our lunch for us. The best thing was when us girls got taught many netball skills and drills. The boys got to learn about rugby and had some Auckland Blues players there to teach them. There were lots of students from St Kents there to help us even though they were supposed to be on their school holidays!

Going to St Kents was a really cool experience.
